Since its inception, the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) has recognized the critical role of the next generation in ensuring sustainability, and in eventually supplying new leadership for its efforts. This recognition has been inspired by the realization that members of this next generation raised in the age of information technology and increasing globalization are likely to answer questions about global health security differently from leaders of today. As a result of this realization, the GHSA has developed room for a “Next Generation” community of emerging professionals representing various organizations actively engaged in the global health security space.
